And All the Bridges were lifted to go through in the morning.

The Portland Rose Festival is Portland’s signature annual celebration, dating back to 1907. It features parades, CityFair carnival attractions, dragon boat races, Fleet Week, rose shows, fireworks, and community events across the city.

The 2026 festival runs from May 22 through June 28, 2026 and includes more than 60 events throughout Portland.

Major 2026 Highlights

* Opening Night Fireworks & CityFair — Memorial Day weekend kickoff on the waterfront.
* Fleet Week — Visiting naval vessels and waterfront activities.
* Dragon Boat Race — June 6–7 on the Willamette River.
* Grand Floral Starlight Parade which was yesterday June 6, 2026, combining the traditional Grand Floral and Starlight parades into one.
The festival is organized by Portland Rose Festival Foundation and is full of fun in the month of May-June

The power of the tongue in life

Life and death are powerful realities, and the words we speak can shape hearts, minds, and destinies. The tongue has the power to encourage, heal, build, or destroy. Speaking life means using words of love, hope, truth, and kindness, while negative words can bring pain, fear, and discouragement.

“Life and death are in the power of the tongue” reminds us to be careful with what we say. A kind word can lift someone who is struggling, while harsh words can leave deep wounds. Our speech reflects what is in our hearts, so we should choose words that inspire peace, faith, and unity.

Every day, we have a choice: to speak life into ourselves and others or to spread negativity. Wise words can change lives, restore broken spirits, and bring hope to difficult situations. Therefore, we should use our tongues to bless, encourage, and speak truth, because words carry great power.
