🐔🌿 OUR FEATURED PRODUCT OF THE WEEK — RECOMMENDED BY MS. LISA! 🌿🐔

We have something NEW and exciting coming to our store! 🎉

Our new “The Poultry Store” line is officially on its way, and we can’t wait for you to try it!

What makes this line so interesting is that the products are designed with specific poultry health needs in mind, while also focusing on overall natural wellness. 🌱🐔

🥳 CHICK N PARTY
Dusted with Natural Wonder and designed to support your flock’s wellness.

🥚 SUPER EGG
This one is incredibly versatile! It can be fed from young birds through adulthood and can be used with chickens, ducks, turkeys, gamebirds, meat birds, quail, peafowl, and other waterfowl.

🐥 CHICKN PARTY PACK
Designed for chicks through adults, including turkeys and ducks. It also provides a maintenance deworming option.*

🦟🐀 PARASITE CONTROL — MS. LISA’S FAVORITE!
This natural product is designed to help repel mice, rats, mites, and lice. And here’s a clever use we LOVE:

Put it in a mesh bag and place it in areas where you don’t want unwanted critters—your house, vehicle, tractor, side-by-side, mower, or other equipment where rats might be tempted to chew on those expensive wires! 😳🐀

We’re excited to get this new line on our shelves and into the hands of our poultry-loving customers!

🐔 Have questions about the new Poultry Store line? Drop them in the comments or stop by and let us help you find the right product for your flock!

Stay tuned—we’ll let you know as soon as it arrives! 🌿🐔

*Please follow the product label for approved uses, directions, and species. Ask us about the specific product and its intended use for your flock.

National Dog Day 🐾

Want some dog facts you might not know? 🐶👇

🐾 Dogs can detect some changes in our bodies through their incredible sense of smell—including changes associated with certain medical conditions.

🐾 Dogs have a special third eyelid called the nictitating membrane. It helps protect and lubricate their eyes. 👀

🐾 Dogs dream while they sleep! You may notice their paws twitching or their whiskers moving during certain sleep stages. 💤

🐾 A dog’s whiskers are highly sensitive. They help dogs sense nearby objects and changes in air currents—especially useful when navigating close spaces.

🐾 Dogs don’t actually see the world in black and white. They see colors, but their color vision is more limited than ours—especially with reds and greens.

🐾 Dogs have a unique “fingerprint” too: the pattern on their nose is unique to each dog. 👃

🐾 Some dogs can learn to recognize hundreds of different objects by name. Certain exceptionally trained dogs have learned even more!

🐾 Dogs sweat mainly through their paw pads. Their primary way of cooling down is panting. 🐾

🐾 Dogs can tell which direction a sound is coming from by using their movable ears to pinpoint it.

🐾 Your dog’s paw pads are tougher than they look. They’re designed to help protect their feet from rough surfaces and temperature changes.

🐾 Dogs have been living alongside humans for thousands of years, making them one of our oldest animal companions. ❤️

🐾 And here’s one we can all agree on: dogs have a remarkable ability to make an ordinary day better. 🐶❤️

Happy National Dog Day from our store to all the good boys, good girls, and very spoiled pups! 🦴🎉

😂🐄 YOU KNOW YOU’RE A FARM KID WHEN… 🚜🐔

🐄 You can identify a cow by its moo.
🚜 You learned to drive a tractor before you learned to drive a car.
🐔 Your chickens have names—and yes, they’re named after actual people. 😂
🌧️ You check the weather more than your social media.
🥾 You can tell the difference between “farm dirty” and “really dirty.”
🐴 You’ve learned that “just one more animal” is NEVER just one more animal.
🌾 Your childhood chores would probably qualify as a full-time job.
😂 And somehow, getting up before the sun just feels normal.

What’s something that instantly tells us you’re a farm kid? 👇😂

🐐 BARBER POLE WORMS IN GOATS — LET’S TALK! 🐐

The barber pole worm (Haemonchus contortus) is a blood-sucking parasite that lives in the abomasum (true stomach) of goats. Heavy infections can cause severe anemia and can become life-threatening very quickly. (https://extension.umn.edu/agriculture/farm-operations-and-systems/small-farms/managing-barberpole-worms-sheep-and-goats)
🚨 Signs & Symptoms
• Very pale or white eyelids, gums, or inner mouth — a major warning sign of anemia
• Weakness and lethargy
• Rapid weight loss
• Bottle jaw — swelling underneath the jaw
• Poor growth or poor body condition
• Reduced appetite
• Reluctance to move or exercise
• Collapse or sudden death in severe cases
• Diarrhea is not usually the main sign of barber pole worm

👁️ QUICK CHECK

Pull down the lower eyelid and use a FAMACHA chart to assess anemia. Pale or white tissue can indicate significant blood loss and requires prompt attention.

💊 WHAT ABOUT TREATMENT?

Dewormers commonly used against stomach worms include medications from the macrocyclic lactone and benzimidazole classes, such as ivermectin, moxidectin, fenbendazole, and albendazole. However, resistance to these drug classes is common, so the product that works on one farm may not work on another. (https://www.merckvetmanual.com/multimedia/table/drugs-for-the-treatment-of-gi-parasites-in-goats)

Rather than automatically using multiple wormers, treatment should be based on the goat’s condition, FAMACHA score, and—when possible—fecal egg counts and follow-up testing to confirm that the dewormer actually worked.

⚠️ Pregnant does need special consideration. Some dewormers, particularly albendazole, have important safety concerns, so always follow the product label and consult your veterinarian regarding pregnancy, dosage, withdrawal times, and extra-label use.

If you have a goat that is white around the eyes, extremely weak, collapsing, or unable to stand, don’t wait—contact your veterinarian. Barber pole worm can cause fatal blood loss.

🐐 Know your goats. Check those eyelids. Catch it early.
