The Bear Paw Quilt

This one was so much fun to make! I loved working with the scrappy blue fabrics, and I enjoyed learning some fun history behind the block.

Dating back to the early American frontier, the Bear Paw quilt block symbolizes strength, wilderness, and the pioneer spirit. Inspired by animal tracks, its distinctive design has remained one of America’s most beloved traditional quilt patterns for nearly two centuries - so interesting!
Sewing was by yours truly, pickles and thread

Quilting by the wonderful Donya Bannister . She used a Baptist Fan pattern, beautifully blending traditional charm with a modern feel.

I went to the Ozark Piecemakers Quilt Show yesterday, and look at these adorable quilt labels by Sarah Hearts! I've been on a shopping spree for cute labels lately, and these are my favorites so far... 😍

I've been a busy girl at Crystal Bridges, but don't worry... I've been busy quilting, too! 🪡 And just so you know, .jojo made me wait FOREVER to post this quilt 😄. I fell in love with this pattern, her fabulous fabrics and the minky blue backing that was all so amazing together! The whale 🐳 especially... it just got me! 🤗 Jodi found an amazing design for us to use called Water Waves 🌊, and it couldn't have turned out better 💙

I just wanted to show a little extra love to this quilt that brought in, because it deserves it. Lindsey is the undisputed Queen 👑 of vintage fabric finds, and I just love this one especially. Why?? Because it reminds me of my Grandma Smith, and the farm, and the clothesline and the crickets at night. 🌙 Of snuggles and hugs and good food. It's funny how one memory cascades into a lot of memories all at once. I love working with Lindsey on quilts and feel like a really special friendship has formed because of it. I'm very thankful for that, and just especially adore this quilt 💛

I ADORE this quilt from Pickles and Thread, and loved helping with it! And to think it's a gift for a Teacher 🏆, well, that's just the best thing ever. She's very lucky to get such a beautiful quilt, but then again, we're very lucky to have such amazing teachers that love and encourage our kids. So it's a win win, right?! I really wanted to keep this one, but it's "frowned upon" or something like that.. 💛

Are you ready for the most magical woodland quilt? Kristi brought in the sweetest baby quilt, and I loved working on it! Lots of deep, woodsy colors, all the friendly animals peeking out behind the trees and a nice calm design stitched over the top. 💙 The thread was a gorgeous blue called Skylight from Superior Threads that brought it all together. This one was so fun! 🪡
