It’s our true honor to share the story of an amazing individual that was the ultimate underdawg in . Gannon was diagnosed with Leukemia, fought it, and overcame it. Here is Gannon’s Story,
“I ran cross country and track at Bellefontaine High School for 4 years. I then went on to attend the University of Cincinnati, where at the age of 20 I would be diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. I would then spend time at both UC Health and The James at Ohio State, undergoing 9 months of chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
During that time I encountered problems with muscle atrophy, weight loss, and the loss of my hair. Through patience and consistent effort, I was able to beat cancer and recover the life I had before diagnosis.
For anyone going through hard times, where the odds may be stacked against you, persistence, courage and positivity will see you through!”
What an amazing feat. Keep living life to the fullest and doing big things, GP. Thank you for sharing your story, for being an inspiration, and for choosing Underdawg.

Shoutout to Charlotte 49er Junior Linebacker #19 Kadin Schmitz for being a true Underdawg. Kadin’s story is filled with moments where he defied the odds and trusted himself. After graduating from Ashland High School, he attended Naval Academy Prep School before securing a walk-on spot at Ohio U. He proved himself worthy, earning a scholarship and a starting role. Following two remarkable years, including a MAC Championship win, he transferred to Charlotte, where he’s now a key player. This season, Kadin racked up 66 tackles, 2 interceptions, and forced 2 fumbles. Keep grinding, #19, and good luck ahead. Appreciate your dedication to the Underdawg mentality. Keep pushing !
