This February, after 11th grader Chelsea Meise’s acrylic painting “Underwater Echoes” won Best of Show at SWIC’s Red Bud Campus, I asked if one day I could feature her artwork at my
shop.
I was completely drawn in by her self-portrait. It truly feels like it pops off the canvas almost like I was sitting underwater in the tank with her.
There is a calming silence to it in a world that often feels full of chaos.

This weekend, her piece earned three awards at Art on the Square in Belleville during the High School Competition:

🏆 The In Loving Memory William Evans Memorial Award
🏆 Artist Choice Award
🏆 A Touch of Whimsy Award

I’m so excited to share that you can view Chelsea Meise’s award-winning artwork at Blanquart’s Vintage Market from May 28–June 28.
