I've started writing this post more times than I can count.
This isn't an easy announcement, but I think it's one that's overdue.
In the coming weeks, Great North Supply Co. will be closing our brick-and-mortar storefront.
This place has been so much more than four walls. It's where friendships were made, where so many of you stopped in just to chat, where dogs came to say hi, where new designs first hit the shelves, and where this little dream became something real. For that, I'll be forever grateful.
But I also want to be honest.
Owning a storefront, especially in a small town, is incredibly hard. There are months where rent, utilities, insurance, inventory, and everything behind the scenes outweigh what people ever see on the sales floor. The reality is that a brick-and-mortar doesn't just need customers—it needs a lot of customers, consistently.
One thing I never expected was how much opening a storefront would change our online business. Before the shop, our focus was designing, creating, and connecting online. As more of my time shifted to keeping the doors open every day, our online presence naturally slowed, and with it, so did our online sales. The business that helped build Great North Supply Co. wasn't getting the attention it deserved.
After months of thinking, stressing, and honestly shedding more tears than I'd like to admit, I realized something.
I don't want to spend my energy trying to survive.
I want to spend it creating.
I want to design again. I want to travel to markets and shows. I want to meet all of you across Minnesota and beyond. I want to bring back exciting online launches, new collections, and the creativity that started this whole journey.
Closing the storefront isn't the end of Great North Supply Co.
It's a new chapter.
You'll still be able to shop with us online, find us at events and shows, and I'll have so much more time to create the products and experiences I've been dreaming about.
To everyone who has walked through our doors, supported a small business, shared a post, bought a sweatshirt, or simply believed in this dream...
Thank you.
You helped make this chapter unforgettable.
And while it's bittersweet to close this door, I'm incredibly excited to see where the next trail leads.
Our last day open will be July 25th, with closing sales starting July 11th.
