It’s place for me to express my creativity, a place for me to support my belief in recycle, reuse, renew, a place for me to supplement my unemployment, and a place for me to start a new chapter of my life. I work alone for the most part but I have to acknowledge my wonderful support staff who got me through 2010, one of the most difficult years of my life. My support staff consists of my son, Evan
, my daughter, Samantha, my three pet ducks (Smoky Jo, Pocahontas, & Penguin) that live on our pond, my son’s cat, Confucius, a black & white cat with the longest whiskers you have ever seen, and my daughter’s African frog – Sandy. For a long time now I have saved everything that I every imagined could be reused. I love trying to figure out new and creative ways to turn old things into new things! Originally from a small town in Ohio, I took a small side trip through Southern California, before ending up here in Bend, Oregon. I have been into crafts since I was a little girl. It’s always been my passion. I still to this day can’t walk by the toy section without checking out what kits and such that they have come up with. But of course this is just research for ideas for my projects . But my true inspiration came from my 1st grade art teacher who finally convinced me to let go of my inhibitions and do finger painting… in pudding. It opened up a whole world of thinking outside the box when it came to my creativity. There was no stopping me after that. I am self-taught in my crafting endeavors and everything in my shop is handmade by me. So far I have only been using materials that I have saved over the years, but I am already recruiting from family and friends for items that will really challenge me. Each piece is individually handcrafted and until recently was completely unique. But I have started making items that have a theme such as the Postage Stamp items. I hope you find my items to be unique and interesting. A good bargain for your money and a sense of helping mother earth. Enjoy!
