This was a weird garment. I think it was meant to just ride on the hips (no elastic at all).
I put in a more "finished" waistband with free floating nonroll elastic. On left: machine basting
Right : finished, outside and inside. It will feel soft and comfortable. And look awesome

Hmmm. I might have met my match. A fire retardent garment. Replace the zip. Went online. All my thread will catch on fire or melt. I'd have to protect myself from breathing the fine dust particals and wear gloves. hmmmm. Plus it may lose it's sfi certified status. I think i may have gotten in over my head on this one. Ya think?
