It's amazing how much life can change in ten years.

Sometimes we're so busy trying to make it through the day that we don't realize we're living through the very season that's shaping who we'll become.

Looking back reminds me not only of how far I've come, but how quickly time passes. Don't waste it. Take the trip. Start over if you need to. Bet on yourself. You may be one decision away from a life you can't even imagine yet.

One thing about me? If there’s an opportunity to touch fabric in person, I’m taking it.

As a bridal and formalwear designer, fabric shopping is never just shopping. It’s research, inspiration, problem-solving, creative therapy, and sometimes a little bit of “let me just look” that turns into me busting my personal budget lol

I order a lot of my sewing supplies online WAWAK Sewing Supplies (shoutout to WAWAK), but there is absolutely nothing like walking through aisles of fabric and imagining all the possibilities.

And before y’all ask… yes, I did leave with more than I planned. 😂

Whew. Baby, nobody tells you that asking God for alignment comes with an eviction notice for everything that’s not meant to go where you’re headed.

People. Places. Habits. Versions of yourself.

And honestly? Some of those exits hurt. Some of them shocked me. Some of them broke my heart.

But on the other side of all that falling away, I found something I wasn’t expecting: me.

The me that trusts herself.
The me that creates without fear.
The me that doesn’t dim her light to make other people comfortable.
The me that stands on business, listens to God, and keeps moving anyway.

I don’t know exactly where this path is taking me, but for the first time in a very long time, I’m genuinely excited to find out.

So yes, ask for alignment. Just understand that alignment isn’t always addition. Sometimes, it’s divine subtraction.

And baby… trust God anyway.

I found my client crying in a bathroom because she couldn’t find an engagement gown she loved.

She’s nearly 6 feet tall and wanted a gown that was sexy, elegant, dramatic, and worthy of her engagement photos. Everything she tried was either too short, not her style, or simply didn’t feel like her.

So we started creating the gown she had been looking for all along.

From selecting fabrics to seeing her custom engagement gown for the first time, to watching her absolutely command every frame of her engagement photoshoot, this is exactly why custom matters.

Sometimes the perfect gown doesn’t exist until it’s created specifically for the woman who’s meant to wear it.

One thing about me… if the ingredients are fresh, I’m paying attention. 🍋🥗

I love trying restaurants that take pride in quality, and this was one of those meals that leaves you thinking about long after you leave. Birmingham has some really great local spots, and this is another one to add to the list.
