In many cultures, the butterfly is seen as a symbol of death and rebirth. When my customer designed her Tree of Life, she asked me to include a little butterfly among the leaves to represent her second baby, whom she lost.

I created this tree using her breast milk and her son’s hair from his first haircut. The little butterfly, representing her other child, will always be close to their brother, forever a part of their family.
