David has been missed Mettie's Mercantile & Tea Shoppe this week while he was in New Mexico on an Antelope hunt. So thankful for his grandma Toni (a.k.a Mimi) being willing to help us out at the store. Having a family business is so much fun! 🫶⭐️

Turns out treasure hunting makes a pretty great history lesson. 🫖✨

We shopped our way from Newark, NJ → Bethlehem → Bath → the Lehigh Valley → Philly, hunting for one-of-a-kind finds to bring home to Mettie’s Mercantile. Along the way, we learned a little more about the stories behind the antiques we love, because the best treasures come with a past. ❤️

And when in Philly… obviously there had to be a cheesesteak and a stop at the Liberty Bell. 🔔🥖

We came home with some fabulous finds, a whole lot more antique knowledge, and plenty of stories to tell. Now we can’t wait to get these Pennsylvania treasures into Mettie’s!

A little Mettie’s treasure hunting… Pennsylvania style! 🫖✨

We’re in Bath, Pennsylvania, digging through antique shops, thrift stores and tucked-away treasures, searching for special finds to bring all the way back home to Mettie’s Mercantile & Tea Shoppe in Blanco, Texas.

Because half the fun of Mettie’s is never knowing what one-of-a-kind treasure might show up next. ❤️

Meet the newest (oldest 😉) addition to Mettie’s Mercantile & Tea Shoppe in Blanco, TX…

🤠 13 feet long.
🏚️ 8 feet tall.
🌾 Solid wood.
❤️ Packed with history.

✨ I like to imagine this beautiful mercantile fixture once stood inside an old Texas general store, long before electricity, automobiles, or online shopping. Folks would gather to buy flour, fabric, dry goods, and all the necessities of life.

And now… after all these years… it’s home again in a Texas mercantile. 🥹

☕ On one side, friends gather for tea, laughter, and sweet memories.
🛍️ On the other, shoppers hunt for vintage treasures and forgotten finds.

A huge THANK YOU to my amazing husband, Marc Wilcox, and my son, David Wilcox, for somehow wrestling this 13-foot beast into the building! 💪😂 And thank you to everyone who shopped our furniture sale and helped us make room for its grand arrival.
