What can still be hiding underneath nearly 70 years of age? This Henry A. Conder evening gown came to us looking gray, stained and heavily oxidized. After a carefully controlled restoration process, what emerged was something very different: a beautiful blue-silver gown with its metallic embroidery, pearls and sequins brought back to life. Some damage from its previous life is permanent—and that’s part of restoration. The goal isn’t to erase every imperfection. It’s to understand what can safely be brought back.

My wife and I had the opportunity to attend the Angels of Hope Night of Hope this weekend, an evening dedicated to supporting Michigan families facing cancer.

Janet Davis Cleaners was honored to help sponsor the event, and it was inspiring to see so many people come together to support an organization that provides real financial relief and hope for families during incredibly difficult times.

The America’s Best Cleaners meeting wrapped up today in Miami, and I’m heading home after a few great days learning alongside fellow cleaners from across the country.

Between the plant tour, equipment demonstrations, and group discussions, there was a lot of valuable insight shared about how we can continue improving garment care and the experience we provide our customers.

Coming right after last week’s Association of Wedding Gown Specialists meeting, it’s been a great reminder of how important it is to stay connected with other professionals who care deeply about our craft.

Looking forward to bringing new ideas back to our team and clients here in metro Detroit.
