AKA The Scissors Hospital, you can get all kinds of things sharpened here, and even pick up a fresh pair of fabric shears (but only if you’re ready for them to change your life). They’ve got all kinds of great gifts, and a very clever mascot.

Did you miss First Friday? Don’t fret, Gallery Walk Bloomington Featured Artist Pluto Rall was so kind as to loan us their original oil paintings to display for the entire month of August! Prints of both the oil paintings and the Altoid tin collages are available for purchase. Make sure to tune in to Art Walk on WFHB Community Radio next Saturday at 6:30pm to hear Pluto’s interview! Thank you to everyone who came out to support a young artist, and to City of Bloomington for the Bloomington Arts Commission grant which allowed us to install all of the new brackets to display more local art! You all made last night the most successful First Friday in our shop’s history!

Congrats to the beautiful couple! 🎊

We loved helping Chelsea bring her unique wedding suit to life. We started with a jacket from StudioSuits (which was very alterations friendly, btw) and a mixture of two different embroidered appliqués from Mary.Not.Martha which were all sewn on by hand.

Artist Biography:
My name is Pluto Rall, I am 15 years old, I have lived in Bloomington all my life and I am a really big fan of The Cure. Part of what I make is visual representations of their songs, but I also make other things that are more personal. I enjoy working with oil paint, oil pastel, watercolor, and pan pastels.

Waffle says hi.

That’s right, everyone’s favorite three-legged menace is visiting for a few weeks! She’s absolutely DEVASTATED that I have re-homed her favorite bench, so she spends most of her time SCREAMING at me or hiding behind the sofa. Little does she know, the bench has been moved to her new home. 🥹

We can’t accommodate extra visitors just yet, but First Friday is coming! I can’t promise that Waffle will choose to attend, but here’s hoping the diva will appear and grace the adoring public with her presence.

Stefany showing off their new bridal party jumpsuit that we converted from a Revelry dress (love a formalwear house that sells their fabric!).

We also finished off the waistband of the original skirt, and when another client mentioned she wished it were a two-piece, we made a matching top from the leftovers. 💕

Fun Fact: A dress alone cannot always be converted into a jumpsuit, you often need additional fabric due to the awkward shape of pants in their flat pattern stage.

‼️ I am hitting pause on Craft Nights (aka BYO-Craft and Knit/Crochet Night, as you may know them).‼️ I don’t know yet what the future holds, but I know that I’m ready for a change. I hope that you will keep an eye on us for announcements as we navigate our free? time? Thank you all for making our craft nights so creative! It has been an honor to host such a beautiful community. ❤️

We are fortunate to have so many crafty options in Bloomington! It’s not all wedding gowns and custom suits over here! This client found a deadstock Star Trek sweatshirt, which we merged with a thrifted Champion sweatshirt to correct the size. Included: Janice modeling the very stylish creation she made from the leftovers. 🖖
