Here are a few more of my recent experiments with drawing over gelli plate mono-prints. The first image in each of these is the gelli plate mono-print which is made using acrylic paint and hand cut stencils and masks on a gelli plate. The second image is after I have drawn on the mono-print using colored pencils and / or Posca acrylic pens. Click on the first image to see it in full and then click the arrows to navigate through all of them.

Over the past couple of years I have been experimenting with gelli plate printing. I'm usually not too happy with the results, so I tend to use my prints as underpaintings for drawings that I create using colored pencils and Posca pens over the acrylic paint prints. Here are a few. On the left of each post, is the original gelli print, on the right is the result after I drew over it. I enjoy working on these as they are very meditative and really help block out, at least temporarily, all of the bad news that is happening in the world.

After 14 or 15 years (don't remember exactly which year I joined) as a designer/seller on Spoonflower, I reached a milestone today. I reached 3000 designs available as fabric in my shop (actually 3003 since I uploaded a few more after I passed the milestone). I have close to that many also available as wallpaper.

My work is inspired by vintage children’s books, mid-century design, animals and gardening. For licensing inquiries or scale changes, email me at: [email protected]

Here are some original watercolor/gouache paintings that I created for a new pattern I have uploaded to my Spoonflower shop for one of Spoonflower's bi-weekly challenges. The challenge was to create some faux Delft Tiles. I decided to do some scenes from the Fairy Realm. I had various inspirations for my paintings, including the Victorian Fairy paintings of Richard Doyle and the cottage in the woods in "Sleeping Beauty." There is also a detail of a portion of my design after the paintings were cleaned up and I added a border and a faux crackle glaze. I created 12 paintings in total for this design. To see the finished design on fabric and wallpaper, you can visit my Spoonflower shop: https://www.spoonflower.com/en/fabric/20960125
