The Kings Mill, LLC The Kings Mill is in the process of retiring. We are a family centered luxury fiber processor.

We take your fiber and help you to determine what you need to have happen to your fiber to make it just beautiful. We offer many services to include, fiber picking, fiber separating (some know this as de-hairing), carding to batts & roving, pindrafting (top), spinning, dying, skein & cone winding, blending, needle fetling, etc.... We will also offer materials for your own spinning enjoyment. The Kings Mill is a place to come, relax, and enjoy all things fiber :D

We would like to make a formal announcement that The Kings Mill has retired at the close of 2019.

The last nine years has been an absolute blast and catapulting the 'Our Back Forty vision' into the alpaca industry was just as amazing. Like all life opportunities however, there is a time and a season for each and our journey in the alpaca world is coming to a close. I will greatly miss the industry that I have been a part of for almost 16 years. So many authentic people, innovative businesses, and insightful creativity! It's truly been an honour.

With the closing of this door, I am just as excited to dive into my position with our local court referral program and work, once again, with those influenced by drugs and alcohol! It is an honour to serve that community.

For those of you who are asking, yes, we will be selling the equipment. We basically have two mills. We are hoping to sell one and keep the other for personal use. However, we are open to a "Back the Truck Up" deal where everything goes. Feel free to PM for details however, only Serious Inquiries for those able to purchase will be addressed.

Running a mill with just a couple of folk takes effort, passion, and experience. From skirting each fleece, tumbling, hand picking, weighing out and running a few ounce feeds through the carders...it all takes dedication. Did you know that in order to get one fleece to yarn, it takes the weighing of the fleece into tiny ounce measurements and the operation of EIGHT machines? ❤

These fi*****ng weight skeins... they are like twisting fluffs of air. ❤ Getting them skeined and packaged to head home soon. ❤

It is like opening presents and seeing if all your efforts as a breeder have paid off!🤩 To prepare for your fiber, we are not taking any more orders right now. This will allow us to clear the shelves to be ready for the NEW SEASON and ship our orders, preparing for FASTER & IMPROVED customer service!🤩 This year is going to be so EXCITING! Stay tuned!!❤
