Such strength.
When I think about what it means to truly be “with women”, I’m always moved by their strength, courage, and steadfastness as I witness physiological birth.
When labor unfolds as it was designed to—without the need for additional interventions—my role becomes beautifully simple. I sit back. I become still (a rarity for me). I watch. I wait.
And in that quiet space, I’m reminded that birth is not something I make happen. It’s something I have the privilege of witnessing.
Time and time again, women show me just how capable they are. Their bodies know. Their babies know. And I leave each birth in awe of the incredible strength they carry within them.
What an honor it is to simply be with women.
