With the influx of big box stores, rising gasoline prices, the closure of small Mom and Pop stores, we saw the need for our small town in rural Alabama, to have a general store. The with the knowledge that our small town would support us, we decided to combine the old and new. The result was the opening of The General Store on Main Street. Both of us having business backgrounds, decided to combine
our efforts into The General Store. Nostalgic in theme filled with treasures, both needed and wanted. As pickers we search for treasurers from the past. As peddlers, we offer old time and unique items you would find in a general store. We are avid believers in promoting specialty items made in Alabama and the USA. We carry everything from antiques & collectibles, jewelry, books, gourmet foods, goat milk soaps, jellies, candles and linens to tissue, toilet paper, paper towels and hair care products. A variety of gift items during special occasions. If we don’t have it in our store, add your wanted item to our wish list.
