The only real difference between an impossible idea and a new invention is the person who refuses to give up on it.
I know that because I lived it. I'm the inventor of bungee riverboarding — a flat, finless oval board tethered to a bungee, rider pulled upstream at 30+ mph on smooth fast-moving water. Wall Street Journal front page. New York Times. ISPO Best New Sporting Goods Product of the Year. And still, most people have never heard of it.

The first time people see bungee riverboarding they always ask the same thing — "Can I try that?"
30mph upstream. No motor. No boat. Just a bungee cord stretched against the river current — Earth powered.
Here's the part people don't expect: you can ride over and over again. The river never stops. There's no lift line, no paddle back out, no waiting. Hook in, launch, reset, go again. All day long.
