Do you know the difference between thrift, vintage, and consignment? Here’s the scoop:

🔹 Thrift: Thrift items are often priced under $20 and can vary widely in quality. You may find worn-out summer tops, pilled winter sweaters, or pants with spandex issues. Shopping thrift? Choose carefully to find quality gems!

🔹 Vintage: Vintage pieces are collectible items with history, but finding great pieces has become a challenge. As soon as vintage items hit thrift stores, “pickers” often pull branded labels aside to sell to vintage stores—raising prices on those unique finds.

🔹 Consignment: Hats off to consignment stores! They handle pressing, mending, and de-pilling, plus all the accounting for items brought in. It’s hard work, and it’s an impressive way to keep high-quality items in circulation.

Four years ago, a road trip to Philadelphia brought us the sweetest Cane Corso pup, and now she’s grown into the heart and soul of our store! Sophie’s not only the ultimate shop dog but also a bit of a local celebrity, known for her friendly spirit and love of playing with visitors (both furry and human).

🎉 10 Years of Fussy H***y! 🎉

From our humble beginnings to today, it’s been quite the ride—filled with beautiful clothes, unexpected challenges, and lots of moves. Here’s a look back at the journey that brought us here:

✨ Location 1: Our first home was 6,500 sq ft of everything—pianos, motorcycles, and curated clothing collections, all thanks to friends in the trade. We’re even still on the marquee! But when rent skyrocketed and ACHD changed the traffic flow, it was time to pack up…

✨ Location 2: We barely opened before someone broke in and even took the mannequins! If that wasn’t enough, ACHD tore up the street, making access impossible. Fun fact: This spot used to be Sinclair’s first gas station, where car fluids were dumped into the ground. Once the road was trenched, contaminants filled the store, landing me in the hospital for sinus surgery. Time to move again!

✨ Location 3: ACHD struck again, turning our front entrance into a mud pit—just in time for the holidays. And then… COVID hit. Somehow, we made it through! Sharing my home with our loyal customers was a joy, but compliance officers didn’t make it easy. The final blow? A $225,000 driveway. It was time for a fresh start.

✨ Location 4: 17th & State—and here we are! One year at our new location and 10 years in business. 🙌 Of course, there’s road construction (thanks again, ACHD 😅), but that’s never stopped us before, and it won’t stop us now!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years—this journey wouldn’t have been possible without you. We’re better than ever, and we can’t wait to see you!

Well ladies we’ve been waiting for permission from the city to move forward on opening Fussy H***y to regular hours... as it turns out asphalt, curbs and gutters is bid at 197k before they charge me for even more permits! Talk about killing small business? Our merchandise is beautiful and Fall is arriving! Please come by and shop safely missing you all!
