Sun enters Libra (Season)

A beautiful time of year to reflect back in gratitude and seek balance through a season of transition.

The lingering of summer whims are haunted by a chill in the air, here in the northeast. The crisp mornings and evenings bring the beginnings of crunchy fallen leaves. And the change is palpable. I love this shift. Even though we are headed for darker nights my inner hobbit is excited for the seasonal exhale along with the recipes and cozy crafting that come with it. It’s a great time to reestablish balance in your life and relationships.

Today marks the autumnal equinox. A day of equal light and dark. It’s a time of gratitude and celebrating your harvest.

I stumbled upon a street fair in Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard yesterday showcasing some beautiful wampum jewelry. I fell in love with these handcrafted pieces as I’ve only seen them set in silver in pretty little shops.
These had a different style to them. One necklace strand of circle beads stacking to make a cyclander shape snaking in size was going for $900! Rightfully so. It was fabulous. And the color was so juicy. And now knowing the methods behind their creation beckons further respect.

I’ve been intentionally collecting these shells along the coast this past summer. I’m so fascinated with the history behind this type of jewelry making. And love knowing the traditional methods that further infuse intention and magic into each piece. I approach a lot of my work in the same fluid and intuitive manner. Allowing the shape of the found/broken pieces to inform my approach with them.

The eclipse season in August sure shook things up.

This marks the book end of the eclipse season we’ve been traversing for the past couple of weeks since entering the solar eclipse on 8/12.
Eclipses can be a powerful period of accelerated change, emotional intensity and major life redirection.
This eclipse season started with a new moon in Leo and is ending with the full moon in Pisces.
This window of time Leo asks you to claim your light, step into your full expression while Pisces asks you to surrender what keeps you from embodying it and surrender to the flow.
