Nobody on that platform noticed him.
That's the part that gets me. A train comes through and the whole place moves. People check their phones, shift their bags, lean toward the doors. In the middle of it there's one guy sitting still on a bench with a sentence on his back that most of them will never read.
I'M LIVING PROOF OF GOD'S GRACE. Ephesians 2:8.
That verse is short and it doesn't leave much room to argue. It says grace is a gift. Not a paycheck. Not something handed over once you finally get your act together. A gift, given before anybody was ready for it.
Strange thing to believe on an ordinary Tuesday when you're tired.
That's why it's written in first person. Not "God is good." Not "grace is real." I'm living proof. It puts the sentence in your mouth and makes you carry it. And it sits on the back, which means you never see it. Everybody behind you does.
Keith builds these in Boston. He still presses every piece by hand, one at a time. When an order comes in, a real person lines up the print and leans on it. One person, one press, one piece.
Here's what I keep thinking about as the season turns.
Things come back. That's the whole trick of spring. Something that looked finished in January is putting out leaves by April, and nobody applauds, because it happens quietly and it happens every year. Growth is not loud. It's mostly just showing up again after a long stretch where nothing seemed to be happening.
Same with people. The comeback almost never looks like a comeback from the inside. It looks like an ordinary morning. It looks like sitting on a bench, waiting for the next train.
Quiet in the rush. Living proof.
Built for the rebuilt.
