I once asked my mother why she spent so much time making quilts when it was easier to buy a blanket from the store. She simply smiled and said, “A quilt is more than just a blanket. It’s a piece of family, something that carries warmth long after we are gone.” Now, as I make a quilt for my own child, I finally understand what she meant. A quilt may age, its fabric may fray, but the love within it never fades. It is a legacy, passed down through hands, from one heart to another.

Finished this yesterday. It us made out of hockey jerseys. The sashings, borders and backing is hockey sticks and pucks. Turned out to be 72 x92.

Memory bear made for a customer out of 2 shirts and hat from her father's clothing. Growing up he would bring her something home in his pocket when he returned from work and she had to guess what it was. One day he brought home a chihuahua puppy, thus the puppy in the pocket.

Three baskets I made for the Basket Social at
St Philip Lutherann Church
1050 Boyd Drive
Mount Dora, FL.
The social will be held on Feb 10th from 11 AM to 2 PM. The drawling for the baskets will begin at 1 PM till all 81 baskets have a new home.
The proceeds will be donated to Lake Hills Elementary School which is for physical and mental special needs children up to age 22.
The principal of the school will be at the social to speak and has a video to share with all in attendance at 12 noon.
Food and drinks will be available for sale.
Just wanted to thank all those that bought tickets already. We welcome anyone that would like to get out for the day and do something different to come on out and enjoy the day with us.

Quilt made from a wedding dress, bridesmaid dress, and ring bearer outfit. Wasn't exactly sure how I was going to pull this off. Got out the graph paper and started sketching and finally came up with a pattern. This was the first request for this type of quilt. I'm very pleased at how it turned out.

Another quilt finished and delivered earlier this week. Love the colors in this one. Many Y seams in this one.
