Yet another build has officially hit the road - meet Eddy!

Eddy is probably one of the most unique vans we have ever built.
When designing Eddy with our clients Carlos and Christine, there were many considerations that influenced this particular layout.

The need for separate sleeping spaces and a full shower that is separate from a dedicated toilet room with full privacy were just some of the elements that make this van one-of-a-kind.

The design process consisted of a lot of back and forth, reworking the layout numerous times in order to ensure the van had everything they needed in the most functional layout possible.

The end result - a beautiful van with:
-His and her beds,
-Full shower with an Infinity Shower recirculating shower system
-Toilet room with a custom vanity and a dimmable red light for trips at night
-Large Vitrifrigo fridge
-Partition wall with a sliding pocket door, engraved with an aspen-tree design
-Copious amounts of storage space, including custom drawer inserts and slide out gear storage out the sliding door of the van
-Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer
-Rixens MCS7 hydronic heating system
-40 gallons of fresh water
-10kWh lithium battery bank
-Evictus Advanced suspension system
-Nomadic x3 48V air conditioning..and so much more!

When it comes to exterior lighting for your rig, there are lots of different options and configurations.

For Sawtooth's owner, having solid exterior lighting when backing up the van was crucial, without compromising functionality when parked at camp.

That's why we set things up so that he had all four Baja Designs lights on when in reverse, with maintaining the ability to toggle on different zones when parked.

The rear garage in Sawtooth was a unique design challenge.

Working to fit 1200Ah of Lithium battery, 30 gallons of water, Rixens hydronic system, office chair, camp chairs, solar panels, a camp table AND extra space for miscellaneous gear was a tough task!

It took quite a bit of effort, but designing and building around each of our clients unique needs is what fuels us.

People love to share their opinions on a shower in a van.

But when you can take long, hot shower on just one gallon of water, how can you argue with that?!

When you're offgrid, water tends to run out way before power or food.

Using an Infinity Shower systems means you can have a luxurious shower in your van without draining your fresh water tank.

What that means? More time spent out in the wilderness, and less time worrying about filling up your tank.

There are lots of ways to upgrade your Sprinter to improve off-road performance and offer greater peace of mind when you're off the beaten path.

One of those ways - with a Limited Slip Differential from Dark Star Offroad.

Not every van wants to be scaling mountain passes and traveling in adverse conditions, but Sawtooth does.

Upgrading your stock differential to a limited slip is a great way to make your van more capable and versatile in sand, snow, and mud.

A next level bike rack for your Sprinter.

The Aluminess PowerLift Bike Rack is an innovative piece of gear to add to your van build and offers a ton of utility.

We often talk to clients about where to put bikes in a van, and there are four options with their own pros and cons:
-Under the Bed: Great, but takes up garage space and your bed has to be a certain height.
-Rack on your Hitch: Easy to get your bikes, but hard to get into the back of your van.
-Vertical Mounting on Rear Doors: Great, but also means no rear storage box
-High Mounting Above Storage Box: Also great, but can be hard to lift your bike up above the box.

The PowerLift Bike Rack solves all those issues with a motorized lift. When lowered, your bikes are easy to access, and when raised, they clear your storage box and are out of the way.

This is especially helpful if you have an e-bike, which can be more difficult to lift and load.
