Tom has actively been collecting license plates for 28 years but plate watching has always been in his blood as a natural extension of a love of automobiles and numbers. Colorado plates are his primary collecting interest, seeking Colorado plates of every year and type through trade and purchase. He’d love to have your help with filling in some of his collection holes….check out his Want List for

specific needs. Tom joined the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association in 1982 and has been active at both the international and local level. He served as Vice President of ALPCA and was Editor of ALPCA’s magazine. Locally, Tom was Secretary/Treasurer of Rocky Mountain Regional branch of ALPCA for nineteen years. Tom has co-authored three books on license plates. Tom is now retired, and he and Margaret have teamed up to sell expired plates on eBay (Automobile License Plate Store) using the eBay ID of LicpL8s. We sometimes buy collections or accumulations of license plates that complement our current inventory. Let us know if you have something to sell. They were Maryland's first graphic license plate design.
They commemorate the U.S. Bicentennial.
They were issued only from late 1975 through early 1977 and remained valid through 1980.

The weekly Boyd ebay auction current Watcher winner is the 48 Maine plate with 30 Watchers. This plate has garnered interest because it is one of the few plates made out of brass. 1948 was the only year the Maine had brass plates. Also, Tom rarely describes a plate as being NICE but he did say it about this plate....FYI: he will never use the term RARE and his NICE can be because of rarity, condition, etc.

Weekly Boyd ebay auction current Watcher winners: The 42 Tennesee plate has 23 Watchers and is popular because it's shaped like the state.
