This is a bit of a catch-up post. The 38th issue of the Wool Club was mailed earlier this month. It's 12 samples of my Hand Dyed Wool. It's like a store coming to your door! The idea for this project came from my early days as an avid sewer and belonging to a few Fabric Clubs to have access to good quality fabrics. When the samples came I fixed a cup of coffee and imagined all the beautiful things I could make. Decades later it still brings back pleasant memories. I hope getting this does the same for you.
Here are the current colors in a mix of spot dyes, abrash, in brights, darks, a new Sparkle and some softer colors, too. Available in Slims ( 4.5 x 16) Long Slims (4.5 x 32), Fat Quarters, 1/2 Yards, Yards & some are available in a Long 8 Value Swatch. Visit fluffandpeachybean.com to order.

Sadly, the Ritchie Hooks are no longer being made. They were made by Heather Ritchies husband, Les. who died in December. No arrangements were made for the line to continue.
I have a fairly good supply in some sizes and limited in others.
These are beautiful Hand Turned Hooks. I have both the straight, bent and marble acrylic pencil type and 3 brass tipped proddy hooks.
They are available on my web site or you can contact me directly.
The website lists the inventory of each type and size and for the gorgeous Marble Acrylic Pencils, the colors in stock.
These go very fast at events so if you are interested don't wait too long!

I started Bluebonnet Joy for the Biennial in San Antonio 2015 and demonstrated tips on hooking with silk. The petals and the Bee body are done in silk charmeuse. I didn't have the pattern complete, still working on the border at that time. I had chosen a chunky multi colored yarn for the border. Then I put it aside for about 7 years, pulled it out to finish and realized I didn't like the yarn for this project. I pulled the yarn out but, because it had been in so long, the background was a bit distorted and difficult to hook well. I persevered and gave up on doing a great job. It became the goal to just finish the best I could. I love the way it came out regarding colors and the addition of beading in the border. The inside border is a bit wonky but I 'm okay with that. There are always lessons to learn when we hook!
I finally got this finished in April. It's available on linen or monks cloth (size 13" x 18") as a kit and also available as a Wool Applique pattern.
The wool I'm featuring are the colors I used to hook Bluebonnet Joy.

The second pattern Flowers & Fans II is a smaller version of a runner that has a more detailed border. The original design was a quilt pattern I had designed more than 30 years ago. Flowers & Fans II is 36" x 27".

This is a Catch Up post as April & May were a blur of activity. June is all about catching up.
A big Thank You to all who visited my booth at Hooked In the Mountains in May at Sugarbush, (it was a bit of old home week & so nice to some who I haven't in a long time and for visiting me at Quiet Corner Hook In/Show in Woodstock, Ct. It's always nice to see people I've known for ages and meet new rug hookers.

For those that visit the shop, we have a new greeter!
First, we lost our sweet Layla in February far too early. She loved saying hi to people and getting petted. She would keep Rose and I company while we packed up the shop and put it back together after events.
Now we have 3 month old Fluff! After all these years of people thinking I named my business after 2 cats (but named after my mom (Fluff) and mother-in-law (Peachy Bean), we have a true mascot. She came to us with the name of Fluffy which we shortened to Fluff. Here she is fitting right in, loving rugs and helping with wool.

New Wool Colors: Deep Sapphire - a gorgeous Blue Violet, Dark Sand Dune is a nice neutral and Dark Leaf Green, a nice darker foliage color.

The Wool Club finally mailed first week of June and this quarters winner of 3 Fat is Rebecca B. from Indiana.
