Many of the most valuable lessons in tennis aren't found in a lesson plan or a match result.
They emerge over time through challenges, setbacks, and the pursuit of improvement.
Here are five observations from our pro-staffer, Lee Taylor:
-Growth comes from discomfort.
The moments that challenge us most often are the ones that help us improve.
-The game changes you off of the court too.
The lessons we learn in tennis often shape how we handle life.
-If you fall in love with the process, tennis gives back endlessly.
The journey becomes just as rewarding as the results.
-Regardless of the score, matches are not over until they’re over.
A reminder to never give up too soon—on the court or in life.
-Every shot should have a purpose.
Intentional actions create meaningful outcomes.
One of the reasons tennis is such a great teacher is that its lessons rarely stay on the court.
If you could add to this list, what would your advice be?
