Facelifted these Easter Island garden totems for my sister, including representations of Easter Island itself in copper leaf and acrylics. Finished with a weatherproof polyurethane. Oddly, they weren’t weatherproof before.

This was the view directly overhead from my back yard last night. I don’t ever recall seeing a winter halo in person before, and this photo in no way does it justice. It was so enormous, I had to walk out into the middle of my yard for an unobstructed view. So this happens as a result of ice crystals in a cirrus cloud formation reflecting and refracting the moonlight at a 22 degree angle. It’s actually made up of millions of hexagonal light patterns in the sky. It was so spectacular, I looked it up when I got back inside. Even better, I went back outside for one last look, and it was completely gone. What an amazing gift from the universe! And check out the guest appearance of Orion on the left.

I created this collection around the far left painting, sold to a friend after the display at the Better Bean Coffee Company last January. I combined her living room colors with my original painting to create the collection. I am totally in love with the technique, and how relaxing it is to paint, and I’m in love with the color scheme, as well! I can hardly wait for delivery day (socially distant, of course)! &home @ Bridgewater, Massachusetts
