Parking is available on the street behind the home with a short walk up to the house. After purchases are made, you may pull into the driveway to load larger items.

💅 A few notes for our new friends:

• We do not answer pricing or pre-sale questions online. It helps us stay focused on preparing the sale… and protects what little sanity Kara has left. 😉
• This is an in-person estate sale only.
• We accept cash, credit/debit cards, Venmo, Cash App, and pre-approved checks.
• Please bring help for loading large furniture and oversized purchases. We can happily recommend movers, but Kara has officially retired from hauling armoires, pianos… and boats. 😄

Every sale allows us to help another local family through one of life’s biggest transitions, and we’re truly grateful you’re part of that journey.

A little behind-the-scenes update…

This week is full in the very best way. We’re carefully packing up two local homes, cataloging exceptional pieces that will become part of future estates, and documenting items with remarkable history before they begin their next chapter.

At the same time, our team is already hard at work preparing for next week’s sale…

We’re headed back to beautiful Abingdon, Virginia.

Some homes simply have a presence the moment you walk through the door. This is one of them. Timeless, elegant, and filled with extraordinary treasures—I truly can’t wait to share it with you.

Our beautiful firecracker officially turns 40 today!

If you’ve ever been to one of our sales, you’ve probably met Maria. She’s the one customers absolutely adore because she’ll stop what she’s doing to help you, hunt down an item, carry something to your car, or make you feel like an old friend within five minutes.

Beneath that sweet smile is one of the biggest hearts you’ll ever meet. She loves fiercely, works incredibly hard, genuinely cares about our customers, and has become such an important part of our Estate Sales by Kara family.

Happy 40th Birthday, Maria! Thank you for all the laughs, the hard work, and the kindness you show everyone you meet. We hope this year brings you every blessing you deserve.

WE SOLD IT ALL!!!!!

What an incredible weekend.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every single one of you who came out to support this sale and honor the life of PJ Bailey. Seeing so many familiar faces, hearing your stories, and watching this community show up the way it did was something special. I know PJ is deeply missed by so many, and I truly believe he would’ve been grinning from ear to ear seeing everyone gathered together one more time.

A special thank you to our friend and Realtor, Laura Schnelle, for trusting Estate Sales by Kara to help close this chapter with the care, dignity, and respect it deserved. It was an honor to be part of this journey, and I hope we made PJ proud. I have a feeling he’d be giving us all one big high five.

To my amazing customers, my hardworking team, and everyone who continues to support this little dream of mine—thank you. Because of you, we don’t just sell the contents of a home… we help preserve stories, memories, and legacies.

Now… after emptying this one out, it’s time to catch our breath for about five minutes. 😄
