It's my birthday & I'll make Trash Rainbows if I want to! ðŸ˜ðŸ—‘🌈
These rainbows have been a work-in-non-progress for years because there isn't enough time in the day/week/year, as you all know. I've been quietly collecting colorful trash from our beach & street clean-ups, along with any other beautiful things that come my way & waiting for the right time.
On June 1, I promised myself I would get the first batch done during Pride Month, and I'm so excited to share that there are 21 Repurposed Rainbows available right meow at cinderandsalt.com!
ALL THIS TRASH is upcycled. â™» Each rainbow began with a scrap of cardboard, a table full of garbage & many many hot glue sticks. I handwrote the description on the back of each one because yes of course I know where every bit of trash came from, and you should too!
Some of them are imperfect because I made a couple typos, and I walked in the rain with one of them, against my better judgment. But I believe in the imperfections, and the whole process - art doesn't need to be pretentious, it just needs to be bring you joy. Each rainbow is numbered and signed in case I get famous one day you can say you had my trash first. 😎
