Christmas seems to come early for weavers. I have a 40 yard warp on my AVL loom with sectional beam, fly shuttle, 8 shafts, and 10 treadles.

For my non-weaving friends, that means I'll have some Christmas tea towels available for purchase very soon! I also have some Fall towels available in the shop right now, just in time for Thanksgiving, hostess gifts, or updating your own decor.

Some patterns are written so that the "right" side of the fabric shows u der, instead of on top. There can be many reasons for this. The author of this pattern didn't say *why* she chose to write the pattern in this fashion.

In fact, the first time I made this pattern I chose to tie up the empty boxes instead of solid ones, to make the pattern show on the top side. BAD CALL! I had sooo many floats and missed picks, and wound up with about half of my towels being tossed in the "seconds" pile.

Lesson learned.

I have loaded the loom with a 40 yard warp for some Christmas tea towels. My hubby said they remind him of ribbon candy!

If you live in Oklahoma, then you know Fall has officially arrived, complete with 4 inches (so far) of rain since yesterday. It was in the 90s on Monday and Tuesday, and tomorrow will be in the 50s.

These beautiful fall towels have been on the loom far too long, so today I'm pushing to get them finished and off the loom, so I can start thinking about Christmas towels.

Happy Fall, ya'll! Both of these stunning drafts are available on my website, and they are perfect for your home, or for gifting! A weaver who weaves tea towels is NEVER without a hostess gift.

Sorry I went MIA there for a bit. Hunting season opens in 10 days, which means I HAVE to clean out the freezer, which means, it's canning season! I have canned beef stew, venison chili, salsa, and chicken broth. I still have tomatoes to finish canning, and maybe a few more batches of jam to make.

All that to say, I haven't made time for any weaving in the last week and a half.

What are you working on? Bonus points for pictures! 😍
