I'm thrilled that my alterations shop has been nominated in the Best Specialty Shop and Best Customer Service categories for the Best of Tri-County 2026.
I (Pam Mortimer, the Stitch Witch) grew up in the area. Many of you may know me from my 17 years at Pat's Printing and Premier Graphics. I made a big shift when I relocated to Asheville, North Carolina in 2006. Hurricane Helene brought me back home. Since returning, I've been lucky enough to get caught up with friends, colleagues, and neighbors and continue to build the business I started in NC in 2012.
Part of my history includes a stint at David's Bridal (where I fell in love with wedding gowns), a vintage clothing warehouse, and a general seamstress gig.
While formal dresses are my jam, I alter and repair just about anything. I do not make clothes.

It's beautiful but more than a little tight. You'd be in danger of splitting the side seams.

My wedding dress… and I need honest opinions 😅

This is just the sample size, so yes—it’s definitely a little tight on me right now. But even with that, I can’t stop thinking about it.

There’s something about it I love, but I’m trying not to get blinded by the moment.

So be real—ignoring the fit for now, what do you actually think of the dress itself?
