🥳🥳 Congratulations to Blake and Journey for placing Top 10 in the nation in their STAR events! Tomorrow morning, we will cheer them on as we learn if they might have placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the nation! Tomorrow afternoon, we will find out what the rest of our competitors placed as well! 🥳🥳

What another busy day!! We began our morning by joining hundreds of FCCLA members on Capitol Hill to rally for FCS education and the importance of physical health. We then explored the Capitol grounds, enjoyed lunch at the Capitol restaurant, and picked up some souvenirs! We then traveled over to Arlington National Cemetery where we visited The Eternal Flame, got to witness the changing of the guard at The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and toured Arlington House. This evening we braved a downpour of rain and made it to the Adviser Recognition session where we watched the top two Knowledge Bowl finalists compete, recognized amazing advisers who make this organization function, and watched the FCCLA fashion show where members showcased their hand sewn garments from day wear to formal gowns!

Journey is our only competitor today, but I know she went in there and rocked it! Results are on Friday 🤞🏻

Whew! What a day! After competing in competitions and workshops, we had the opportunity to listen to the top 20 National Officer Candidates present speeches on how FCCLA has made an impact in their lives and career choices. We then spent the evening taking the metro train to Union Station and hopping on board a moonlight monuments trolley tour around DC! Tomorrow brings more exciting competitions, adventures, and meetings, so stay tuned!

Our morning consists of competing in STAR Events and attending workshops. These three amazing students have worked hard to be here today! Wish them luck in their events. We will learn the results on Friday!

Yesterday, we had some free morning time and slipped in a visit to the National Museum of Natural History. We spent the evening attending our Oklahoma State meeting, where we heard from our amazing state officer team about all the things we could expect this week. We then ConneCTEd with more than 10,000 FCCLA members from across the nation at opening session. We’re looking forward to what today has in store!

We landed safely and spent the afternoon learning the metro bus system, enjoying dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, and are now in our rooms gearing up for another big day tomorrow!
