“I just turned 40 years young and the thing I’ve learned in the past year was that clothes don’t last, strong people do.

We talk about quality American made products. This is one of the many benefits to being a part of the CMBD community.

The beginning roadmap for CMBD aimed at an evolving denim story for the wearer, building community, and creating a legacy as the only military veteran and black owned denim brand.

We didn’t consider the amount of inspiration that would come from our children. If it weren’t for them, items like the doughboy chore coat would never have been released. The heritage chinos and the the womens denim re-brand wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for our children.

CMBD is a community-first brand, built around family and traveling stories. We often ask: what does “live denim” mean the you? For us, it’s the journey that we take with our children and the inspiration we gain for such as awesome community of support. Happy Father’s Day to you dope dads out there building stories and creating legacy (while wearing denim). We salute you - live denim

One of the main drivers of the products we create is functionality. We wear the Army uniform during most days and it feels good to have a well crafted pair of denim or that broken in sweatshirt to wear on our “off duty” hours. Our t-shirts are a medium weight bottom layer piece that is perfect day or night. Chores coats and jackets add a great “in motion” flexibility to carrying items and traveling. This is kind of our thing since we move often for the Army.

Branching out this year to provide more womens specific pieces aligning the functionality of his grind or hers. New things soon, big things later.

It’s already challenging building a brand that’s American made. It’s even harder when you add the “veteran owned” to the brand message with the two people behind the brand that are still Active Soldiers in the United States Army.

However, we find peace in the grind, we find peace and purpose in the products we drop periodically. We find love in community and the great people we work with that align to our vision. S/o to the NY fam 🙌🏽
