“You can’t learn to make jeans by watching a video. You learn by making them.”

I’ve been making jeans for over 40 years. Denim Workshop is where I teach you how to do it right.

This isn’t a hobby class. Over 9 weeks you’ll build your own pattern in TUKAcad, work the industrial machines, and construct a real pair of jeans from start to finish — the same process we use in the studio every day.

If you’re a fashion student, a brand founder, or someone who wants to actually understand how jeans are made and manufactured in the U.S., this is built for you.

Fall 2026 session: Sundays, 5–7PM, Oct 4 – Dec 6. Held inside our studio at Williamsburg Garment Company in Brooklyn.

This 9-week immersive workshop goes beyond teaching you how to make a pair of jeans—it teaches you why each step matters.

You’ll learn professional construction methods, digital patternmaking with TUKAcad, and the manufacturing process used to bring a pair of jeans to life. Even after more than 40 years as a designer, learning digital patternmaking transformed the way I develop products.

If you understand construction, know how to make patterns, and can sew your own designs, you’ve built the foundation to create your own products—and to build your brand with far greater independence and lower development costs.

What can stop you?

Enrollment for the Fall 2026 session is now open. Space is limited.

Here’s a look back at Week 2 of Denim Workshop.

After breaking down jean construction, we gave students an overview of the complete jean-making process.

In this clip, our Production Manager, Akmal, demonstrates one of several methods we discussed for sewing rear pockets. Here, he sews the pocket freehand by following a chalk outline drawn from a template. These are the kinds of practical skills and factory methods students learn throughout the workshop.

Along the way, students also learn digital patternmaking with TUKAcad, develop their own jean patterns, build fit samples, make corrections, and sew their own pair of jeans from scratch using industrial sewing machines.

Enrollment is now open for the Fall 2026 Denim Workshop beginning in October. If you’re serious about learning how jeans are made, we’d love to have you join us.

Denim Talk is getting more interactive. Evolving.

Sign-up at: MakingABrand.co/Denim-Talk/

Our previous Denim Talks have brought together denim enthusiasts from around the world through live chat, thoughtful questions, and great conversations. For our next session, we’re excited to add a new option that makes the experience even more interactive.

We’re testing a new platform that allows attendees to join the discussion on camera and ask questions live if they’d like. Whether you want to be part of the conversation face-to-face or participate through chat as always, the choice is yours.

The goal is the same as it’s always been: bringing together people who love denim and creating a space where everyone can learn, share experiences, and ask questions.

We’re looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new members of the denim community.

This is probably the best idea I’ve had in a long time. Teaching Denim Workshop is so much fun, and time flys by when we’re into it.

Week 3 is coming up and I’m already looking forward to the next season’s Workshop.

Can you believe this is my first time meeting the legendary Dapper Dan. By chance, he stopped at our studio looking for another company. Hopefully we will be doing somethings together in the future, both looking to help young designers grow.
