Put the finishing touches on this gorgeous custom designed purse this morning! I did add a second pocket to this purse because the original only had one zipper pocket inside. I’m a lover of pockets & felt this one needed one more pocket. My client chose everything down to the hardware I used. This is the biggest benefit of buying from a small shop. Sure you can go to the department store & buy a designer bag but it’s going to be the same bag thousands of other women have as well. The leather I used for this bag was a single piece that cannot be reproduced.

I’ll admit I’m still working through some kinks in working with leather. It is not the same as fabric! There was plenty of swearing & seam ripping until I got it just right! And the arthritis in my thumb is protesting today haha. Now that I’ve got this beautiful bag done, I’ll set aside my leather working for the day & turn my attention to a “surprise” project I’m working on! For those in the Seattle area, think Squatch…that’s all I’m going to say! 💚💛💚💛💚

Made 3 more shell gathering bags a few days ago for a dear & lifelong friend! I love that so many people want these! There’s something so magical about finding a shell on the beach. I hope at some point everyone pauses from the every day stresses of life & takes the time to hunt for shells. 🐚 🐚

If you’re a woodsy person & not a beach person these bags can be made with different fabric & used to find woodland treasures!

My point is get out there and hunt for magic! It’s all around us if you just take a moment to seek with your heart & not your head.

Finished up this gorgeous teal floral quilt today! I absolutely love the color palette! And this is my first chevron quilt & am loving the pattern! I’ll definitely make another chevron down the road! I had this cute red polka dot fabric in my stash & thought it was a fun compliment to the florals. This is a queen sized quilt & is up for grabs if someone wants to buy it. Please keep in mind that handmade quilts are expensive. Message me privately if you’re interested!

This gorgeous quilt is quilted (stitching on top), the edges squared up & ready to be bound! I fell in love with these florals years ago when mom & dad found them on clearance. As is my history, I fall in love with fabrics that are discontinued. Every dang time. I was able to find enough on eBay to make a queen sized quilt & I’m so happy with how it came together! I’ll post more pics once the binding is done & it’s ready to go up for sale! I’m a sucker for a floral quilt.

Finished up this fun monogrammed quad set of shell gathering bags today! I love the idea of the monograms! So much fun to be had at the beach for this family! 🐚 🏝️

I’ve been working on my triple Irish chain quilt this weekend & I’m happy with my progress! I got all 80 of the corner squares done, started on the side squares (mostly polka dot fabric) & made one center square so I could take my picture. I’ve wanted to make this quilt for a couple years now but was super intimidated by the pattern. I’m so glad I didn’t change my mind! I am going to love the final product in my guest room! 😍

On this cold snowy day with a quiet house while Dylan is in sunny Florida, I’ve been working on this fun quilt! I’m using the last of my favorite flamingo fabric. It’s discontinued so all I have is all I’ll ever have! I got half of the top of the quilt put together today. I’ll do the other half tomorrow. The squares of this pattern are what’s referred to as “on point” so they’re diamonds instead of squares. I’m loving how this is coming together! When this quilt is done, it will be available for purchase!

I have a couple events coming up & after trying 6 different dresses & 1 store bought skirt & none of them working out, I got annoyed & decided I needed to just make my own damn skirts. So last night I finished the hem on the black one so they’re both done! The black one is a skosh longer & I love them both! I’ll wear the purple one tomorrow to my company Christmas party & the black one in January. They’re super comfortable too! I love the feel of Jersey knit fabric.

Ever since I made the first baby blanket in June for sweet baby Charlotte, my son has been asking for one. So, he’s getting one for Christmas! Since he’s not a baby girl, I had to pick out fabrics that were more masculine. So, I picked out a snuggle soft purple plaid since dark purple is his favorite color. And for the other side, I picked out a faux fur. This blanket is definitely soft & snuggly! I also made it twice the size since he is a grown man & not a baby girl. Lol. It’s massive! But he’ll love it! And knowing that it will end up on the couch or recliner, I’ll get to use it probably more than he will! Merry Christmas to me & to him! 😆also, the last picture is showing my cat “helping” again as he always does. This blanket is special though because normally I can annoy him enough that he wanders off. Not this time. This blanket is so warm & snuggly that he stayed exactly where he was while I was trying to sew the blanket. I kept turning the blanket & he would just turn with it. Goofy cat.
