This page may be about thrifting… but the real story starts with these three.

Oso, Crema, and Bandit.

They didn’t just change my life—they helped me find it again. ❤️

💖 Oops, I Thrifted Again… but this time, I inherited it. 💖

Salt & Pepper Shaker Sunday 🫙🫙

Some of my favorite treasures didn’t come from a thrift store. They came from my Mamaw.

When she passed away at 96 years old, I inherited about one-third of her incredible salt and pepper shaker collection. Every little set reminds me of a woman who was as strong as she was kind.

My Mamaw was the jailer in Carlisle, Kentucky, and her house was unlike anything you’ve ever seen. The holding jail was on the main floor, with the women’s cells upstairs.

And here’s my favorite part…

She cooked for the inmates whatever she was making for herself. If it was pinto beans, cornbread, and chow chow, that’s what everyone ate. I honestly think half the town’s “jaywalking” might have been on purpose just to get some of her home-cooked meals behind bars! 😂❤️

Looking back, I think growing up around that incredible old house—filled with history, oddities, collections, and stories—is exactly what sparked my love for Grandmacore, vintage decorating, and finding beauty in things with a past. (Pictures of her house for reference💖)

Every thrifted treasure reminds me that the best collections aren’t just made of things… they’re made of memories.

✨ Did someone in your family have a collection you’ll never part with? I’d love to hear about it.

💚 Furniture Flip Friday! 💚

This dresser was my mom’s. ❤️ She found it at an antique store years ago, and when it became mine, I loved it… it just didn’t fit the vibe I was going for.

So I decided to give it a new look with this "collard" green. 💚

I’ll admit, there was definitely a “I hate this color… what have I gotten myself into?” stage. 😂 Thankfully, I trusted the process, and now I’m really loving how it turned out!

One thing that’s definitely staying? Are the little glass k***s. ✨ I absolutely love them.

Now I need your help…

If you look at the before picture, all of the carved details were painted in contrasting colors, and it gave the dresser so much personality. Now that it’s all one color, I’m wondering if it needs a little something.

🤔 What would YOU do?
💚 Leave it all collard green?🎨 Paint the carved details a contrasting color? If so… what color?🖌️ Dry brush them?✨ Add a glaze or dark wax?🌿 Or leave it exactly as it is?

This may be the “after” picture… but I want to have one more after pic, because I think she’s missing a little something. Let’s see where this makeover ends up! 😉

🛍️ Oops, I Thrifted Again…

🕸️ Weird Find Wednesday 🕸️

Found this hand-stitched beauty at Goodwill for just $1.99 and there was absolutely no way I was leaving it behind.

“From ghoulies and ghosties and long legged beasties and other things that go bump in the night, good Lord deliver us.”

Who sat there and stitched this? Why did they stitch this? And most importantly… why do I love it so much? 😂

It gives spooky cottage, haunted grandma, and vintage Halloween all rolled into one. For $1.99, this quirky little treasure is headed to The Pilot House where it feels right at home among all the other vintage finds.

Would you hang this in your house?

🐾 Trying New Foods Tuesday! 🍝🥬

Today’s contestants: Oso, Crema, and Bandit!

🍝 Spaghetti: 10/10. All three agreed this was a fantastic life choice.

🥬 Lettuce: 0/10. Apparently crunchy water is not on anyone’s list of favorite snacks

🐶 Oso: Eats everything without hesitation, then checks everyone else’s bowls just in case they missed something.
🐶 Bandit: Gives food a thorough sniff test before making his decision, complete with a dramatic pause like he was judging a cooking show.
👑 Crema: wants it served on a silver platter preferably while being fanned with a silk napkin.

The official results are in:
✔️ Spaghetti = Delicious❌ Lettuce = Absolutely not
Sometimes being a dog food critic is hard work. 😂

🖤 Oops, I Thrifted Again…

If you know me, you know I never pass up vintage linens… and I definitely never pass up a quilt!

So when I spotted this at the Goodwill Bins, I grabbed it without even thinking. Worst case? It ends up in the back of my car for Oso, Crema, and Bandit. 🐾😂

Then I pulled it out and realized…

It’s not a quilt.

It’s a JACKET.

And honestly? It’s absolutely gorgeous.
Somebody’s grandma probably spent countless hours making this thing, and there was no way I was leaving it behind.

It’s a little bigger than I’d normally wear, but I’m keeping it anyway.
Now the real question is…will I ever wear it ? 🤔😂
