I took a deep dive through my rather enormous Bin of Fabric Scraps and came up with some treasures that I was able to turn into these gems: bookmarks! The perfect useful, easy, cheap impulse buy—not to mention the perfect way to use up scraps!

Bag progress! These were bags I started, oh…maybe sometime the end of last summer? Embarrassing. So I figured I’d get back to them first, before I go all hang-busters on making Twinkles & coasters. Any suggestions for how much inventory to have? Any other first fair tips for this utter noob?

Oh haiiiii! My friends, it has been a wild few months and poor PippiLu has been relegated to the back burner. Since last October, I’ve been on the hunt for a new, full-ish time job. It has not been easy. I have submitted more than 100 applications to various businesses and organizations and the response has been…minimal. So in March I decided to switch tactics and instead of looking for a job, I started looking at certification programs. I am delighted to report that I will be a student at the for the Summer 2023 quarter. Let’s all celebrate ! 🎊

And that’s not the only exciting thing. I will also be selling at this year. So if you are local-ish or find yourself driving through our quaint college town, swing in by and say hey!

Well kids, I’ve been burning the candle at both ends. While I really love my side gig, the scheduling is pretty sporadic & while I thrive under pressure, the deadlines are intense. So I dusted off my resume & have been looking for entry-ish level positions. I would LOVE to find a position with a publisher. Books are my bread & butter. One of my favorite jobs was working at a local independent bookstore (which, sadly, has closed; RIP) right out of college. What might this mean for PippiLu? Honestly, I don’t see a whole lot changing. I’ve been doing PLD when I can, but never settled into a set schedule. Maybe having a more full(ish) time job will give me the structure I so crave. At the moment, I am frantically finishing up some holiday custom orders that were placed well in advance. Nothing like cutting it close, eh? 😳

Also? Brrr…after some ridiculously warm temps, we have settled back into seasonally chilly temps. I have noticed that the older I get my range of comfortable temperatures shrinks. I’m down to about 6-8 degree swing. From 66-74. Anything lower is too cool & anything higher is too hot. If you need, I’ll be over here yelling at kids to get off my lawn🤣

What do you do when your second kid wants to be a & the Jawa costume you made for your first kid is too small AND you have become both a better sewer & more well-versed in ? You make a practice Jawa hood of course! Why is it that miniatures are so damn cute?
