How do the glass panels on high-rises stay together without metal caps? It's through structural silicone glazing (SSG) that bonds the panels together using a high-strength silicone sealant.

An SSG is only as good as the gap it's sealing. Before the silicone ever goes in, installers need to set a consistent bond line between the glass and the metal frame. Too thin, too thick, or any inconsistency, and the sealant won't perform the way it's supposed to.

The fix isn't a better sealant - it's a glazing spacer tape that sets the gap properly.

Our Norton V2200 glazing tape holds the glass panels to the frame and sets an even gap. It is double sided to ensure a strong hold until the silicone sealant is applied.

CNC, laser, or waterjet — which cutting method actually fits your material?

They can all produce a finished part, but they're not interchangeable. Density, thickness, and material type all influence which process makes sense:

🔹 CNC Knife — our workhorse, handling most felt, foam, and cork up to 75mm
🔹 Laser — best for thin synthetics under 1/4" and fine detail or engraving work
🔹 Waterjet — steps in when material is too thick or dense for the other two, above 0.32 g/cm³
