Cache FFA was well represented at the Oklahoma State University Big 3 livestock judging field days. Madden Barmettler, Jace Creel, Weston Dorrell, and Kashen Todd were part of the over 1500 students from across the country participating. Livestock Judging Highlights:
Sheep and Goat Day: 18th place senior team out of 120 complete teams.
Madden was 43rd out of 507 individuals.
On Beef we finished right in the middle, (Wyatt Flores came and hung out with everyone that day) and pigs we were 41st. Overall we finished 32 out of the 120 plus senior teams. In addition to judging we were fortunate to tour the OSU Robert M. Kerr Food and Agricultural Product Center. Thank you to Allison Sampler and Maddie Muller for setting that up. Of course a little fun was had bowling (Madden won), attending the Okie Fest Concert, and eating at Stillwater’s famous Eskimo Joes!!

From the Cache FFA Chapter, Mason Kakesh, Audrey Warner and Kashen Todd attended weeks two and three of the Washington Leadership Conference, respectively. The conference challenged these students to develop service focused community projects while also experiencing the history of our nation's leaders. On the night tour Wednesday evening, students saw the Iwo Jima, Jefferson, MLK and Washington monuments. This encouraged a sense of patriotism, especially during the evening reflection at the Iwo Jima Monument. On Thursday, the entire WLC group had the opportunity to walk around near the Capitol and surrounding buildings dressed in our blue jackets. The Oklahoma group had the chance to speak with Senators Armstrong and Lankford as well. Finally, on Friday the service project with Meals of Hope taught the group the power of working with a team to meet a common goal. With every student attending WLC working, we packed tens of thousands of apple cinnamon oatmeals for those in need.

From Mason: “My favorite part was bagging the oatmeal for the service project because of the time spent with friends serving others.”

From Audrey: “Night tour was the most impactful part of the week due to the reflection that evening. Additionally, the time spent around Oklahoma kids, even on the bus for a full day, made the week so exceptional!”

From Kashen: “Even though it was sketchy, the metro was fast, fun and ferocious.”

We would like to officially welcome Ms. Barber to Cache !!!

My name is Logan Barber, and I am originally from Elmore City, Oklahoma. I recently graduated from Oklahoma State University in May with bachelor’s degrees in Agricultural Education and Animal Science.

I completed my student teaching at Sapulpa Public Schools, where I had the opportunity to teach a variety of agricultural education courses, coach CDE teams, and work closely with FFA members. Those experiences reinforced my passion for agricultural education and helping students develop valuable skills both inside and outside the classroom.

I am passionate about helping students grow as leaders, develop practical skills, and gain a greater understanding of the agricultural industry. I am excited to join the Cache community, work with students and families, and continue building a strong agricultural education and FFA program. I look forward to helping the program grow and creating opportunities that prepare students for success in agriculture and beyond. Thank you for the opportunity to be here.

Kashen is ready for an exciting week at OSU AGED Academy!

Over the next five days, these students will have the opportunity to learn from agricultural educators, faculty members, industry leaders, current college students, and state agricultural education professionals while experiencing life as an Oklahoma State Cowboy.

This week will challenge participants to think differently, grow as leaders, serve others, develop teaching skills, and explore the incredible opportunities available through agricultural education.

Today's schedule includes introductions, leadership development, a tour of the Food and Agricultural Products Center, discussions focused on the foundations of agricultural education, and one of our favorite traditions—the Leaders in Ag Ed Dinner. This evening, students will sit down with individuals who are helping shape the future of agricultural education across Oklahoma and hear firsthand about the impact this profession has on students, schools, and communities.
