On August 12th, 2015, I was sitting in TopShelf Kicks, back when you could go an entire day/week without someone walking through the door. I came across a Facebook post from PAWS about a stray pug looking for a home. I immediately left the store and rushed over there like it was a sneaker release, hoping I’d be the first one to adopt him.

At the time, I thought having a shop dog would be pretty cool. Little did I know how much that dog would mean to me and the future of TopShelf Kicks. Buckets quickly became our mascot, store manager, CEO, and most importantly, my best friend.

During those early years, when business was slow and times were tough, Buck was always by my side. He kept me company, brought smiles to people’s faces, and gave customers another reason to walk through our doors. I genuinely believe without him, TopShelf Kicks wouldn’t be what it is today.

For over 11+ years, Buck was part of this journey. From the days of an empty store to watching the business grow, getting married, starting a family, and eventually getting to meet my daughter Isabella. I’m forever grateful he got to be here for all of it.

Sadly, Friday night, Buckets passed away at home surrounded by his loving family.

For those of you who have been following us since the beginning, you know just how special Buck was. He wasn’t just a dog hanging out at a sneaker store. He was part of the foundation of TopShelf Kicks.

I hope his story is a reminder of how much love and happiness a rescue dog can bring into someone’s life. I went to adopt a stray pug that day, never imagining he’d end up helping me build my dream.

Rest easy Buckets the pug the founder of TopShelf Kicks Buy•Sell•Trade 💔
