For all those quilters waiting for me to open my store in Cambridge, what kind of quilt of the month club would you like me to have. Eventually (probably a year down the road) I will invest in a long-arm quilter but need your expertise as to what I should buy. Looking initially to buy a pristeen condition used one. I also have a Facebook group you can join "Miss Kate's Creations" group. I want to gradually grow along with all of you. Would you prefer me cutting up quilt squares for quilts in a pack or would you prefer to get them directly from the different fabric companies? What quilting brand thread do you like to use? I was initially going to go with Guiterman and Coats & Clarks 100% cotton quilting thread. If you would like other brands of thread I can add them also.
Just let me know what you want me to carry in the shop in addition to quilt fabric, fashion fabric and sports fabric.
I am hoping to open before the Henry County Fair but since they moved it to June 2026 that really puts a time-frame that is kinda tight for me. Until I acquire all of my store fixtures, I won't know how sparse everything looks. I have a black/white variety of10 bolts coming in September and trying to decide on Tonga prints to have delivered this summer from Timeless Treasures.
Whenever I have my grand opening I will have goody bags for at least the 1st 25 people who come & visit. The Village of Cambridge is going to make a big deal of my grand opening. The address is 115 N. Prospect ST., Cambridge, IL 61238.
Also, I'm going to carry elegant fabric for proms & wedding dressess. I know several people in Kewanee make prom & wedding dresses. This store is going to encompass multiple lines of fabric along with gifts I create. The store will also handle custom embroidery & DTF heat printing on apparel along with sublimation. I'm hoping I can also persuade the schools in the area to get their imprinted apparel for school from me.
