We can’t think of a better Valentine’s Day surprise.

A small reminder that the best things aren’t rushed - they’re worn in, cared for, and held onto. This coat has clearly lived a full life, alongside a lasting love.

In 1985 I purchased my first pair of Paraboot’s. These Michael’s have seen every element that New England weather could throw at them. These recently went through our repair shop for a full rebuild. My relationship with Paraboot started at Louis Boston when the owner Murray Pearlstein returned from a European buying trip and summoned me to his office to show me a pair of shoes he had purchased while there. He always had troubles with finding shoes that worked for him and he insisted that I find a way to get these in our store. of course this was before the Internet but I was determined to find a source in the US and we did! I was a buyer for the Shoe salon at that time and these were not the easiest shoes to sell. However, Louis pioneered this brand and we eventually brought them to Drinkwater’s. 21 years with one brand speaks volumes for an enduring product! Passion is an understatement until you’ve experienced it. Today, Richard Pontvert’s legacy lives on as being one of the most popular footwear brands. Should you on a pair of pair of Paraboots and they need repair, we are the only Authorized Repair Service in North America

Really nice write-up in Cambridge Day this week - big thanks to Julie Mahdavi for telling our story so thoughtfully. Hard to believe it’s been over 21 years since we opened our doors in Porter Square.

Grateful to everyone who’s been part of this ride - from mentors like Marty Kress, to longtime friends like Daiki Suzuki of Engineered Garments, and all of you who’ve supported us through the years.

And a special shoutout to Gus, Corey, and Steven, who keep the spirit of the place alive every day.

At the end of the day, it’s always been about connection, trust, and community. That’s what matters most.
