Free-arm quilting has become my passion and is
wonderfully therapeutic as I get caught up in the many patterns of quilt tops and
the stories of how they were developed. It has been my pleasure to have finished
many quilts with a variety of patterns. This journey began when my mother purchased a small table top long-arm
quilting kit for my sewing machine. My mother is an avid quilter and thought it
would be great to finish the quilts she made on her own. Over the past fifteen
years I’ve had the opportunity to learn the art of free-arm quilting. My first time trying it, I had so much fun driving around on the fabric, creating
patterns and designs, I had to keep going. As my need for knowledge progressed I
graduated to a Sweet 16 Handi-Quilter and it was obvious this was something I
truly loved to do. When someone pieces together their quilt top, and you are entrusted with the
pleasure of sandwiching it together; it is a superb honor. I do prefer free-motion,
whether it be edge to edge or custom quilting. I look forward to hearing your
story, and working with you in creating one of your quilting treasures.
