Not long ago, I was working with a client who tried on this gorgeous, bright floral outfit.

And when I say she looked amazing in it, she LOOKED AMAZING.

More importantly, she loved it.

But she wouldn’t buy it.

Not because it didn’t fit.
Not because she didn’t like the colors.
Not because it wasn’t flattering.

She told me she couldn’t see herself actually wearing it because it would draw too much attention to her.

And then she said something I can’t forget :

“I like to blend into the background.”

That moment taught me something I’ve seen over and over again since that day.

Sometimes we think we have a style problem when what we actually have is a self-trust problem.

We know what we like… and then immediately talk ourselves out of it.

Is this too much?
Am I too old for this?
What will people think?
Can I actually pull this off?
Will people look at me?

So instead of choosing what makes us light up, we choose what feels safe.

And little by little, we can end up dressing to disappear.

Being a stylist has taught me that sometimes the answer isn’t another shopping trip or a better wardrobe.

Sometimes the work is learning to trust yourself enough to say:

I like this. I feel good in this. And that’s enough.

And for the record, I’m still practicing that one too. 💕

So I’m curious: When you get dressed, are you choosing what you genuinely love — or are you sometimes choosing what feels safest?

✨ Treasure Drop ✨

One of my favorite parts of what I do is the hunt. You never know what’s waiting to be discovered, and today’s trip definitely didn’t disappoint!

This round of treasures includes everything from vintage clothing and everyday fashion finds to beautiful glassware, pottery, and unique CRU Goods that deserve a new home.

🛍️ The CRU Goods will be posted in the CRU Goods Facebook Group, so if you love unique home finds and vintage treasures, keep an eye out there!
