Zero Waste Fashion = The process of discarding ANYTHING in fashion creation.

I want to talk about this concept, not because it is catching on, or because it is the newest thing, but because I really want to help raise awareness about what waste-free fashion really is and why it is so important that the world understand why. It is important.

400 billion square meters of fabric produced per year.

15% of 400 billion is discarded during the cutting process.

Therefore, 60 billion square meters of fabric are wasted per year.

The solution?

There are many techniques that explore fabric handling to eliminate material misuse. Creating new formations, hidden pockets or modern silhouettes are just a few ways to use the leftover fabric and create an innovative design without waste. Other brands use the waste to create smaller parts like masks and accessories, being much more environmentally conscious and serving the consumer in new ways.

I am the eldest of the daughters, so at the age of eight I learned to make clothes for the first doll in the house that was given to my little sister. It turned out so well that I started making clothes for my sisters! Skirts and very simple things that a nine-year-old girl could do. "
