Wizards Ware Wands

Wizards Ware Wands Wizards Ware Wands is dedicated to the age old art of wand making with emphasis on keeping true to the past and bringing that kraft into the present day.

Wizards Ware Wands are a unique variety of wands for the discerning Witch or Wizard. Although I have some profiles that seem the same, each wand is a one of a kind work and, from time to time, I create replicas of wand from the Harry Potter franchise.

I inspect every piece of wood I consider for making a wand from. I do that twice. The first time is just to make sure it doesn't have cracks or a knot that have issues that might make it hazardous (flying apart) to lathe. Having a knot does not mean I reject it. It just means it doesn't go all the way through and create a big hole. This piece of walnut has pretty straight grain to it until you get to the butt end. you can see where the knot was on the very end and the burling that comes with knots, like this one, gets kind of squirrely and they are very hard. This one will take a little patience but, I am going to keep the design of the wand simple to show off the "squirrely burling". It should look very striking when I'm done.

I've recently acquired some new woods and I am really enjoying working with them. I should be posting a forest of new wands leading up to The Kansas City Renaissance Festival! Anything I post here can be found at Accents Renaissance and Historical Design, booth 279. My Dear, Sweet Sister, Kait, sells my wands at Faire and she is most capable of assisting you in choosing a new wand! Keep a weather eye out, I will be posting more wands! WANDS UP!⚡️

DRAW NEAR AND PAY HEED
Greetings to one and all. I come today to inform the general public that all persons carrying a wand, especially those persons being at or under the age of 11, must attend my upcoming Wand Handling Class in The Children's Realm at The Kansas City Renaissance Festival, every weekend beginning Labor Day (including Monday) through October 18th. Attendance is mandatory (perhaps) and I will be inspecting all wands created on the premises. Times and stage to be announced soon.
Yes, you will need a wand for this class.

As you may know, every year at this time I am usually posting that I will be at the The Kansas City Renaissance Festival dressed as a Pirate. In a delightfully ironic twist of fate, I received an owl about 2 weeks ago, inviting me to come teach my Wand Handling classes to the younglings (oldlings too) in The Children's Realm. I, of course, accepted so, I hope you will come out to the The Kansas City Renaissance Festival and find me in The Childrens realm. It will be a magical good time!
Also, as always, my wands will be available at my dear sister Kait's booth, Accents Renaissance and Historical Design, booth 279. Once you have your wand, you can come over and I will show you how to handle it.
HUZZAH AND WANDS UP!⚡️

If you follow along with the things I post, you know that, come fall, I like to dress up as a Pirate (Captain Sir Richard Peter Doom) and come play at The Kansas City Renaissance Festival. In an interesting quirk of fate, I received an owl about 2 weeks ago from the higher up's in Canterbury, asking if I would come and teach my Wand Handling class in the Children's Realm this Faire season. I am over the moon at the request and have agreed to bring my magic to Canterbury. I will be teaching my Wand Handling classes for the younglings (oldsters and everyone in between) and as soon as the showtimes are made available, I will be sure to post them. I hope you will come out and see me and enjoy the magic that is The Kansas City Renaissance Festival. HUZZAH & WANDS UP!⚡️

I had a most excellent time at the Omaha Potter Faire this year. Sold plenty of wands, made some new friends and saw some old friends, one in particular...Jake. This is a picture of Jake in 2025, holding the Elder Wand he had won by winning the challenge I tasked him with. He had just started reading the Harry Potter series of books and I challenged him to finish reading them in a set period of time. As you can see by the picture, he won my challenge.
When he showed up this year to see me, I would learn that Jake was going blind. He could still see some but, I believe they said it was progressive and he would lose his sight entirely. I was completely inspired and impressed by this boy who seemed to be taking it in stride, learning braille and talking about the books he was already reading and ones he planned to read. I suggested one of my own favorites, The Agony and the Ecstasy by Irving Stone, a story about Michelangelo, the painting of the Sistine Chapel and his relationship with the Pope.
We got to chat for a long while and and I was so impressed with this young man's attitude, his acceptance of what was happening to him and his determination to overcome it.

This is one of my favorite details about my new Three Moon Brooms broom (and there are a lot. I just love that new broom smell...or, I will when I receive it.
