Thrift Shop The Thrift Shop is operated by Carthage Service League, a volunteer nonprofit organization.

Sales go to Sammy Brown Library, Panola College scholarships, disaster relief for county residents, first responders, and other local projects and organizations.

The Carthage Service League was pleased to be able to provide the LifeVac medical devices to the Carthage Police Department as well as the Sheriff’s Department. This is one of the many ways we are able to give back to the community through proceeds from sales at the Thrift Shop. All of you are helping with this effort through the donation of gently used items as well as being one of our valued shoppers.

Service League Scholarship Committee member, Leslie Beckler, announced the final scholarship recipient of the 2026 year. In total, four scholarships were awarded this year to attend Panola College in the amount of $5,000. Braxton Bullock from Beckville High School received the legacy scholarship, and his grandmother, Service League member, Sandra Morrison, had the honor of making the presentation. Every year, at least one legacy scholarship is awarded to a deserving applicant that has a mother or grandmother in the Carthage Service League.
Our many thanks to each of you for donating your gently used items to our Thrift Shop, and to you our shoppers, you are the best. You make all of our endeavors to support worthwhile causes in Panola County possible.

We have “sidewalk sale
action” beginning tomorrow, May 14 and continuing through Friday May 15 at the Carthage TX THRIFT SHOP on the square downtown.
We will have a select group of beautiful ladies and teen dresses priced at 50% off as well as a select group of pictures at 50% off. New inventory will be added on Friday so shop with us both days to get great buys. Our hours are from 12:30-4:30 both days.

The Carthage Service League presented $5,000 scholarships to Panola College to two Carthage High School graduates, Aaron Archibar and Andrew Gwinn. Making the presentation is scholarship committee member, Leslie Beckler.
Scholarships are just one of the ways the Carthage Service Club gives back to the community through proceeds from sales at the Thrift Shop.

The Carthage Service League presented the first of this years $5,000 scholarships to Braley Weems. Braley is graduating from Gary High School, and making the presentation to this year’s recipient are scholarship committee members, Leslie Beckler and Nan Powell.
We are excited to be able to provide scholarships to Panola College every year to deserving Panola County applicants through proceeds from the Service League Thrift Shop on the square in downtown Carthage, Texas.

A little reminder of the hours of operation for the Carthage Texas
Thrift Shop located on the square downtown. We are open weekdays from 12:30-4:30 and Saturday 9:30-1:00. If you happen to see a lot of ladies working inside, they are putting out new merchandise for the day to make it a truly inviting shopping experience for you. There is someone working in the back area at 9:00 AM waiting to receive your amazing donations. We are incredibly proud of the fact that the Thrift Shop is staffed with Service League members who generously give their time to keep our shop fully stocked. Proceeds from sales go back into our community and we are able to help fund the Sammy Brown Library as well as giving scholarships to deserving graduates to attend Panola College. We also help when people in our community suffer disasters. We donate to first responders, city parks and so much more. We invite you to pause and look at the board that is posted on the wall where you get your shopping cart, and you will see the many things we have been blessed to support.
