A little slice of retail life… Putting together the new cat and dog booth. This one was more about math and placement over aesthetics. I was trying to get as much as humanly possible in here 🐈💕🐾🦮

I’ve been finding torn off tags, not only mine, and earring cards with the price tags sans earrings, stuffed in the bottom of several vases. From all the stores. It seems like that’s a known place to hide what they’re stealing 🤦‍♀️

My hope for Building Violet was to sketch out plans of each space and then show you how I do it… Turns out, it usually just sort of happens. In my head. Plans, schmans 🤦‍♀️

Trying to get as much clothing into this small booth as possible. So I thinned out the accessories and gifts to make room for more clothing fixtures. I’ll post more close-up pictures and do a tour tomorrow. I just have a lot more clothing to take in before I feel like it will come together. Clothing isn’t something I’m as comfortable with… But I’m starting to enjoy merchandising with it.

And just like that… The party was over.

Day 6 of the Painted Tree move-outs. I had eight booths in two locations. We’ve met people who have dozens and dozens of booths over multiple locations. They just keep filling up moving trucks and parking them until they know what to do. It’s so sad. There’s light at the end of the tunnel and this is almost done for me. But I feel for everyone who still needs to get everything out 💔 but next time… I’m hiring movers. 💯🤦‍♀️ I painted murals in a few of my booths… I’m really going to miss it

Day 1,758 of being a furniture mover. There is no end in sight. Feeling kind of punchy… everything is surreal & narrated by Rod Serling.

More momentum/documentation of our move out of the Cary Painted Tree 💔 Heartbreaking.

We filled this truck three times and will need a few more minivan trips. Sold a cabinet in the parking lot to a cool guy...

We filled this truck three times and will need a few more minivan trips. Sold a cabinet in the parking lot to a cool guy who collects fancy decoy ducks. Been a surreal whirlwind. More reporting to come 💜

A more somber day… First day taking down displays at the Cary Painted Tree. The majority of these vendors did not want to leave… It was overwhelming 💔
