This last month I have been working on items for a June wedding. This included the groom's kilt, fly plaid & flashes, the bride's sash & lace shawl, ribbons for the bouquets, groomsmen boutinierres, bridesmaids wrist corsages, lined shawls, & tablerunners plus a kilt for the bride for after the wedding. They picked up the items this week and will send professional pictures after the wedding. Here is a quick peek of some of the items. The tartan is Ocean & Pine.

I finished this J.W. special weave tartan end of April and was delivered in May. In May I have been working on items for a wedding which I will post pictures of later.

It has been another busy start for the year making kilts and doing kilt alterations. I keep forgetting to get pictures. Well, I remembered today to take a picture of a kilt alteration. I needed to add 3 inches to the apron and underapron. Fortunately there was plenty of facing in the aprons to do so. I just needed then to add some more lining and waistband.

The last couple of weeks I have done a kilt alteration, hemmed a kilt and fixed a kilt.
The kilt fix was because my client had started his own alteration and let out a pleat which had been cut out. I had a scrap piece of Black Watch tartan (his kilt was Black Watch). I was able to patch the hole, stabilize it and added more lining and waistband.
Moral of the story - don't try to alter the kilt yourself, bring it to me to have it professionally done.

The last couple of months I have been busy making items from the Sinclaid 1884 ancient hunting tartan for a wedding: the groom's kilt, flashes, fly plaid, the bride's dress and a sash, and from Sinclair muted red the maid of honor's dress. I will be getting pictures after the wedding, but here is a sneak peak of the groom's kilt.

In between times I also worked on kilt alterations.

R.H. had a Black Stewart kilt he needed to be hemmed. He also wanted matching flashes. I happened to have scraps from a Black Stewart kilt I had made 25 years ago that was a close match to his kilt. He wanted them for the Elizabeth Celtic Festival. He picked them up yesterday.
