When you’re lost, sometimes you have to go back to the beginning. Retracing your steps to where you started or before you got off track. For me this meant reconnecting with Natalie, my first employee. When I started Mirror Palais in 2019 she was my first intern. We did everything together and I taught her everything I knew. Now 6 years later she has grown into a strong leader, creative and businesswoman. It only just occurred to me that we reached a point last year where we would go weeks without even exchanging more than a few words until our photoshoots. There were so many people in the company in between us and a mountain of work that seemed never ending. To be honest, a lot of negative energy was brewing behind closed doors. I’ve talked about this a bit, about how I wanted to run away from the stress and problems in my small business and the people who were surrounding me that did not have my best interest at heart. Everything changed at the end of last year. When the dust started to settle and we began to pick up the pieces, Natalie and I came together in the most beautiful and natural way to put them back together again, carefully with so much consideration for one another and our amazing team. Fall is a very nostalgic time for me, it felt right to shoot the campaign here in New York. The first look from our fall collection, “Season’s Change” was shot at Natalie’s apartment. It’s her sacred space and it set the tone for the rest of the shoot, to me it symbolizes a return to the beginning. Sarah is wearing the Candlelit dress, now available for purchase. ♡
